In a context of increasing interest in tourism in The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, President Nicolás Maduro has announced the creation of historical routes throughout the country. During the presentation of the National Tourism Award, held at the iconic Hotel Humboldt, the president emphasized the importance of diversifying tourism offerings and attracting more international visitors.

The Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, revealed that to date, 1,588,000 international tourists have entered the country in 2024.

This increase not only surpasses established goals but also reflects a resurgence of the sector after years of challenges. The figure represents a significant milestone, as in 2023 the target of one million international arrivals was exceeded.

During the event, Maduro highlighted the importance of establishing direct air connections to facilitate tourism. He announced the opening of a direct flight between Beijing and Caracas, aiming to attract one million Chinese tourists.

This measure is part of a broader strategy to diversify tourism sources and leverage the potential of emerging markets.

In addition to historical routes, the Venezuelan government plans to create eight new Tourism Schools in different states across the country. These institutions will seek to train future professionals in the sector and contribute to the sustainable development of tourism in Venezuela. The training of local talent is essential to ensure quality service and promote Venezuelan culture among visitors.

In his speech, Maduro also tasked the Minister of Industries with developing a plan to supply the tourism sector with national products.

This initiative aims not only to boost the local economy but also to offer tourists an authentic experience representative of the country’s cultural and gastronomic wealth.

With these actions, Venezuela positions itself as an attractive destination for both national and international tourists. The focus on sustainable tourism and the promotion of local culture are key steps to vitalizing a sector that has the potential to be one of the economic pillars of the country.

As these initiatives are implemented, tourism is expected to continue growing and contributing to Venezuela’s comprehensive development.
