Venezuela Celebrates the Lunar New Year with China: Message from President Nicolás Maduro

“For the people of Venezuela, we are filled with great emotion and joy to be able to celebrate the lunar new year together with the Chinese people,” he added.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has extended his warmest congratulations to the Chinese people on the occasion of the beginning of the new lunar year, which marks the arrival of the “Year of the Snake.”

In a message full of brotherhood and cooperation, Maduro highlighted the importance of this celebration for both peoples and reaffirmed the ties that unite Venezuela and China.

“On behalf of Venezuela and the Bolivarian Government, I extend my warmest congratulations and a brotherly embrace to the Chinese people and President Xi Jinping.China is a power for peace, coexistence, cooperation, and shared development,” said President Maduro. The Venezuelan President stressed that this new year symbolizes wisdom, transformation, and human strength.

President Maduro recalled his first visit to China twenty years ago, where he was able to appreciate the richness of a millenary culture and the growth of what he considers “the most important power of the 21st century.”
“For the people of Venezuela, we are filled with great emotion and joy to be able to celebrate the lunar new year together with the Chinese people,” he added.

The leader also quoted Chinese President Xi Jinping, who has promoted the idea of building “a community of shared destiny for humanity.”
In this context, President Maduro sent hugs and wishes of happiness, peace, and prosperity from “the homeland of the liberator Simón Bolívar and the great commander Hugo Chávez.”
