It represents a blatant violation of international law and a crude attempt to perpetuate imperialist interference, FM Gil stated.
On Monday, Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil and the Venezuelan government strongly condemned the support expressed by U.S. President Joe Biden for Edmundo Gonzalez.

After a meeting at the White House with this far-right politician, Biden issued a statement suggesting that “the will of the people” had not been respected in the South American country. In response to this new expression of foreign interference, the Venezuelan diplomat issued the following statement:
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly and categorically condemns the statement issued by the White House, which represents a blatant violation of international law and a crude attempt to perpetuate imperialist interference in Latin America.
It is grotesque that an outgoing administration, like that of Joe Biden, mired in political discredit and marked by a legacy of domestic and international failures, persists in supporting a violent project that has already been defeated by the popular vote and the revolutionary democracy of the Venezuelan people.
The decrepit Biden administration, defeated and in retreat, once again resorts to outdated interventionist strategies, attempting to artificially inflate insignificant political figures in Venezuela while ignoring our people’s clear and sovereign will.
These maneuvers, lacking legitimacy and historical sense, only demonstrate the moral and institutional decadence of an administration inexorably approaching its end.
Venezuela warns that any attempt to undermine our stability or incite violence will be met with firmness, dignity, and the support of a people fully aware of their strength and their capacity to defeat fascism and terrorism in any scenario.”
