In an Ordinary Session of the National Assembly (AN) held on Thursday, October 17, Conrado Pérez was appointed and sworn in as the new principal rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE), replacing Juan Carlos Delpino. Additionally, Aura Rosa Hernández took on the role of substitute rector.
The president of the NA, Jorge Rodríguez, conducted the swearing-in ceremony in the Hemicycle, where both officials committed to defending the Constitution and the laws of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with a focus on strengthening the electoral system. They also called for the preservation of peace and the will of the people through voting.
During their oath, Pérez and Hernández reaffirmed their commitment to protecting national territory and its natural resources, as well as rejecting any form of foreign intervention.
Both pledged to uphold the integrity of the CNE and to avoid any temptation of illicit enrichment.
This new appointment comes following the dismissal of Juan Carlos Delpino, who was removed due to his alleged involvement in crimes such as electoral fraud and treason, as well as his connections with foreign powers.
The National Assembly aims to strengthen confidence in the Venezuelan electoral system with these new appointments.
