During the inauguration of the National Cebu Fair, he ordered the intensification of all diplomatic efforts “to bring back all Venezuelan men and women from the United States. Tomorrow, 306 migrants will arrive from Mexico.”
The Bolivarian leader requested that Jorge Rodriguez, the Special Envoy for Peace Negotiations with the United States, ensure flights under the “Homeland Return Plan” for migrants who have been arrested.
“We are going to bring back all the migrants who have been detained to provide them with respect, dignity, and support so they can return to their homeland and reunite with their families,” Maduro said.
The Venezuelan leader also urged U.S. President Donald Trump to put an end to the persecution and human rights violations against his fellow countrymen. Maduro strongly condemned the transfer of Venezuelan migrants to Salvadoran prisons under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act.
