“At 4:50 a.m. today, Friday, August 30th, we were once again victims of an electrical sabotage that has impacted several states across the country, including Greater Caracas,” reported Communication Minister Freddy Ñáñez.

“At this moment, the electrical cabinet team is working to fully restore the service. A special surface transportation operation has been activated in the capital. No one will take away the peace and tranquility of Venezuelan men and women,” he stated.

On Tuesday, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello also reported that the blackouts experienced in several parts of the country were the result of terrorist attacks carried out by far-right groups.

He asserted that the far-right is resorting to these methods “because they know that peace is prevailing, because they are defeated, and because their violent agenda is failing. Our response will be forceful,” he declared.

He reminded that the people voted massively for President Nicolás Maduro and that there has already been a ruling by the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice.

He specified that the sabotage involved an attack on a transmission tower, which left ten states and parts of Caracas without service.
