Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodríguez joined today to the “Grand National Pilgrimage” in Coro, Falcón, demanding an end to illegal coercive measures for national peace and development, ensuring a sanctions-free future for youth.
Venezuela commenced a “Great National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela Without Sanctions and in Peace” on April 19, otably coinciding with the 216th anniversary of Venezuela’s first cry for independence, joining citizens nationwide to demand an end to over 1,000 illegal coercive measures and affirm the nation’s path to prosperity.

The caravan’s arrival in Falcón state, represents a significant milestone along the Western Route. This city, recognized as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the birthplace of the Afro-descendant leader José Leonardo Chirino, has now joined the growing popular demand for the definitive lifting of the unilateral coercive measures imposed against the country.
During her various messages to workers and citizens, Delcy Rodríguez stressed the need to advocate for the end of sanctions to allow the country to return to peace, stability, national reunification and development with equity. In this sense, she urged to embrace fervently the national clamor for an end to the imperialist economic war and made clear that a sanctioned country cannot be handed over to new generations.
“We are making progress but we have to achieve the complete liberation of Venezuela from the system of sanctions so that we can fully recover health, education, public services, electricity and water”, she said, emphasizing that the pilgrimage does not respond to partisan controversies or hatred, but to the common encounter of Venezuelans facing the challenges imposed by the economic blockade.
Later in the day, Vice President Rodríguez further demonstrated solidarity by joining a human billboard formed in the iconic Médanos de Coro to declare ” Venezuela in Peace.”
Accompanied by regional authorities, social movement leaders, and a multitude of Venezuelans, she traversed the emblematic dunes, symbolically demanding the lifting of the unilateral coercive measures burdening the Venezuelan economy.
The national mobilization is scheduled to culminate on May 1 in Caracas. To ensure comprehensive coverage of the entire nation, the march is strategically divided into three main axes, traversing the states of the West, the Andes, the Plains and the South-Eastern zone.
As Rodríguez has previously emphasized, the lifting of sanctions is an absolute necessity for the nation to fully advance its productive development, ensuring that recovered resources are directly allocated to essential services such as schools, hospitals, electrical infrastructure, water, and benefits for the working class.
