In a significant meeting, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, received various proposals from the Peasant, Fisherman, and Communard Movement of Venezuela, aimed at strengthening the productive sector of the country. This dialogue is part of the search for comprehensive solutions that boost agricultural and fisheries production, as well as the welfare of rural communities.
During the meeting, several key initiatives were presented that seek to improve the living and working conditions of farmers and fishermen.
One of the most relevant proposals is the formation of rural social action brigades, which will be dedicated to addressing in a profound and comprehensive way the needs of rural communities.
These brigades will be composed of farmers, fishermen, and aquaculture workers, promoting a collaborative and supportive approach.
In addition, the creation of a confederation of peasant and fishermen forces was proposed, with the aim of uniting the different productive sectors and strengthening the organization and representation of workers in both rural areas and at sea.
In this regard, it was also proposed to hold a large national congress that would bring together farmers and fishermen from all over the country to discuss strategies and joint actions to promote sustainable development and food security.
Another important aspect addressed was the need to establish a national day in tribute to Venezuelan peasants, recognizing their valuable contribution to the country’s food sovereignty. It was also suggested that farmers be included in school meetings through the “All Hands on the Field” program promoted by Carlos Lanz. The aim is to promote school farming and cultivate a culture of production among new generations.
Finally, the creation of a national militia to bring together farmers and fishermen was announced with the aim of promoting security and defending the country’s natural resources.
President Maduro also highlighted the formation of brigades in all fields across the country to boost production at the La Vergareña hacienda, located in the state of Bolívar, supported by the “Gran Patria del Sur” project. This initiative seeks to articulate efforts to ensure food sovereignty and strengthen the national productive system.
The reception of these proposals by the Venezuelan government reflects a commitment to rural development and social inclusion, seeking to build a more just and equitable country for all its citizens.
