The Bolivarian authorities in Caracas have issued a statement vehemently rejecting the sanctions imposed by Canada against Venezuelan officials.
In the communiqué, the Venezuelan government describes the sanctions as “new and useless measures imposed by the colonial Government of Canada,” expressing “absolute contempt” for Ottawa’s actions.
The statement places Canada’s decision within a broader geopolitical context, accusing it of aligning with “designs emanating from its metropolis in Washington.”
Venezuela’s government criticizes Canada’s stance as a “shameful act of submission,” asserting that Ottawa has chosen to act as a “mere executor of aggressions designed in the United States.”

The communiqué states that Canada “has ceased to be a sovereign nation and has become the 51st state, without its own voice and with a diplomacy dictated by the White House.” It also mocks Canada as a “colony with imperial pretensions,” accusing it of falling into “absolute ridicule” by pursuing a hostile agenda against Venezuela.
Venezuela’s government condemns Canada’s lack of political autonomy, stating that its “lack of personality and political dignity has reduced it to a simple instrument of useless sanctions, aimed at pleasing foreign interests.”
The Bolivarian government declares that it “does not and will never recognize these absurd measures” and reserves the right to take “reciprocal actions against the subservient officials who have enacted such measures.”
The statement concludes by emphasizing Venezuela’s resolve to remain “firm, sovereign, and determined to resist any aggression with the dignity that characterizes the Bolivarian people.”
