“They have turned Colombian diplomacy into microphone diplomacy. Enough talking about Venezuela! From here, we can give the world lessons in true democracy,” the Bolivarian diplomat said.
“We will not tolerate one more word about Bolívar’s homeland. They will deeply regret the consequences; we have already warned them. Stop the chatter crafted from the North!” he added.
Previously, the Colombian FM Murillo stated that “diplomacy requires balance and mutual respect. President Gustavo Petro’s stance, which has not changed and remains the same from the beginning, is guided by principles, not by threats or external pressures.”
“We will continue promoting transparency and democratic legitimacy, always with a focus on non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs,” said Murillo, questioning the Venezuelan electoral system and Nicolas Maduro’s election as president.
In response to Colombia’s insinuations, the Venezuelan foreign minister said, “It seems Murillo acted timidly when addressing reality in our bilateral meeting, always adhering to respect for Venezuela’s sovereignty and independence as we reviewed bilateral cooperation.”
“However, in front of the press microphones, the blackmail he receives from the far right and from the United States emerges, attacking from behind with false narratives that he is unable to discuss face-to-face. Venezuela will respond in due time, and he will regret the ongoing interference in our internal affairs,” Gil emphasized.
