‘Her ridiculous threats are useless in motivating small violent and terrorist groups,’ FM Gil stated.

On Wednesday, Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil condemned the attacks by Gen. Laura Richardson, the head of the United States Southern Command (SouthCom), against his nation.

“Venezuela has triumphed again, united, in peace, mobilized”: President Maduro Said

“To talk about democracy, the head of SouthCom chose to go to Chile, where her predecessors met with Pinochet to direct Operation Condor, which murdered thousands of Latin Americans. She does this while attacking Venezuela, where we are fighting fascism and the heirs of Latin American dictatorships, who today dream of reversing the revolutionary processes in our region,” he said.

“Her cynicism is enormous! Her ridiculous threats are useless in motivating the small violent and terrorist groups that have once again failed in our country. Mrs. Richardson: Game Over!” the Venezuelan diplomat added.

Earlier, during the South American Defense Conference in Chile, Gen. Richardson cited Venezuela as an example of an attack on “democracy and its fundamental values.”

She also attributed the migration of Venezuelans to the “crisis” prevailing in that South American country without mentioning the role that U.S. arbitrary sanctions have played for more than a decade in reducing the income of the Bolivarian nation.

FM Gil’s statements also occurred in the context of massive marches held in Caracas and other cities on Wednesday, when millions of Venezuelans took to the streets to celebrate one month since the electoral victory of the Great Patriotic Pole in the July 28 elections.

On that day, President Nicolas Maduro was re-elected for the 2025-2031 term after defeating nine candidates, including the U.S.-backed far-right politician Edmundo González.

“We took to the streets to joyfully celebrate the enthusiasm of the Bolivarian and socialist people. We are preparing because what’s coming is a revolution that is being reviewed so that our people can have peace,” said Diosdado Cabello, vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
