Venezuela Sends Second 200-Ton Humanitarian Aid to Cuba

The minister also emphasized the commitment of the Venezuelan people to support the Cubans in these difficult times, reaffirming that “the Cuban people have the support of the State and the Venezuelan people, just as the Venezuelans have the government and the people of Cuba.”

The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela has sent a second shipment of 200 tons of humanitarian aid to Cuba, intended to support the population affected by the floods and the damage caused by hurricanes Rafael and Óscar.

Foreign Minister, Yvan Gil, supervised the shipment from the maritime and port terminal in the state of La Guaira. In total, 20 containers loaded with essential supplies sailed.

Gil detailed that the aid includes construction materials and community support, noting that more than 54,000 items were donated by national private companies. “We expect that in the next four or five days this cargo will arrive at the port of Santiago de Cuba,” he added.

“This assistance has been very important and valuable in facing this difficult time. History and destiny have led us to build together a different world based on solidarity and cooperation,” he said.

This is the second shipment sent by the National Government to Cuba from Puerto Cabello, Carabobo state. It includes 2,500 4H kitchen units, 10,000 mattresses (single and double), 10,000 galvanized zinc sheets, 20,000 iron pipes and ceiling hooks, as well as personal hygiene kits.
