The operation of OPEC+ statutes and future opportunities in the hydrocarbons market were among the topics discussed at the dialogue, which took place at the headquarters of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (Pdvsa) La Campiña, in Caracas (capital).

The meeting was also conducive to strengthening the ties of collaboration between the oil company and Venezuela, which will also bring benefits to the nations producing crude and reaffirm the principles that gave rise to OPEC+.

On 2 October, the Minister of Petroleum participated in the 56th Meeting of the Ministerial Monitoring Committee of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+), through a videoconference.

The conference covered topics associated with defining the work agenda for the coming years, the future of the global economy, and discussed production purposes, supply and demand in the world energy market.

The South American country plays a very important role in the entity, since it is the nation with the largest oil reserves worldwide.

Since 1960, when Venezuela founded OPEC, its leadership has been undisputed, not only because of the largest oil reserves on the planet but also because of the large gas blocks it owns.
