Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Yvan Gil expressed his solidarity with the Cuban government and people, as well as its repudiation of the decision announced by the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, that the White House restored the policy of maximum pressure against the greater Antilles.

“Restoring the so-called ‘Restricted List’ is an act of useless vengeance against a people that has shown, time and again, that it does not bend to blackmail or pressure,” stated the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Relations on his social media account.
Gil, on behalf of Venezuelans, reminded that for more than six decades the U.S. imperial regime has tried everything: blockade, sanctions, aggression, sabotage, and even terrorism. “Nothing has worked. Cuba remains standing, resisting and overcoming.”
He further stated that this hatred is not just against Cuba; it is against the example it represents: a sovereign nation. “Despite all the imposed adversities, it has managed to emerge as a worldwide reference of dignity, capable of sending doctors instead of soldiers and demonstrating that sovereignty is not up for negotiation.”
“If the aggression intensifies, the peoples of America will not stand idly by. Solidarity with Cuba is not an option; it is an unbreakable commitment. Cuba is not alone, nor will it ever be!” he warned, attaching to his message the claim that his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez, shared against this new U.S. aggression.
Cuban FM Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla accused the administration of Donald Trump of acting provocatively by reinstating the list of Restricted Entities in Cuba, which prevents financial transactions with Cuban state-owned companies and limits essential resources.
This decision, which includes the remittance processing company Orbit, S.A., is part of a broader context where Trump has re-included Cuba in the list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism, Thus revoking the deletion of this cataloging made by his predecessor, Joe Biden.
