The Minister of Interior, Justice, and Peace of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, provided further details this Thursday regarding alleged terrorist plans against the country, purportedly organized by the U.S. government through the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), with participation from Spain’s National Intelligence Center (CNI).

He recalled that several weeks ago, reports emerged about the arrest of a group of mercenaries and the seizure of hundreds of assault rifles and other weapons intended for introduction into Venezuela. He emphasized that this operation was conceived among the CIA, DEA, and CNI, and is known to María Corina Machado, a representative of the extremist right.

Cabello reported that 71 new firearms were confiscated through various operations. In one operation, 33 rifles stolen from Venezuelan armed institutions were recovered. It is known that over 500 weapons have been seized, some manufactured in the U.S. and others in Israel.

According to the planned operation, the CNI introduces mercenaries and weapons into Venezuela. These mercenaries make contact with criminal groups such as Tren Del Llano and Tren de Aragua, subsequently attacking civilian and military targets, harming the population, and assassinating revolutionary leaders, all aimed at destabilizing the country and provoking a violent regime change.

He explained that this group of detainees includes individuals from the U.S., Peru, Colombia, and various other nationalities; however, they all share the common trait of proficiency in the Spanish language, which enables them to infiltrate communities without detection. Several members of this group are specialists in hacking and have been tasked with executing cyberattacks against essential services.

He reflected on the importance of neighboring countries understanding that what is being done against Venezuela could also be used against them. Venezuela serves as a laboratory for testing methods that will later be employed against other sovereign and independent states.

Venezuela is prepared to counter any terrorist plans that may be activated against it from within or outside its borders, emphasized Cabello, who asserted that the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez will continue to enjoy peace and tranquility.
