Venezuelan Armed Forces Monitor the Elections in Real Time

The minister confirmed that from Fort Tiuna is monitored everything that happens in the national territory.

Venezuela’s Defense Minister, Vladimir Padrino LĂłpez, highlighted this Sunday that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) is carrying out a “Ongoing real-time monitoring of the entire national situation in the context of the presidential elections”.

In a message on his X social network account, the Defense Secretary also stated that the FANB continues “with the impeccable execution of the Plan RepĂşblica”.

In statements to local media, Padrino LĂłpez stressed that the Plan RepĂşblica continues to be implemented in an impeccable manner and the FANB was able to carry it out, and is deployed throughout the country, guarding and ensuring the conduct of the election day.

“The Republic Plan continues to fulfil its task in all its spaces and polling stations. We are watching over public order, national order, so that there is no manifestation, expression of violence of any kind”, he added.

Regarding the security device, the minister confirmed that from Fort Tiuna is monitored everything that is happening in the national territory, and communication is maintained with the observers and all the security forces and prosecutors of the Public Ministry, highlighting “the institutional strength of the country”.

In this regard, he stressed that the FANB maintains the protection of land borders as well as air and maritime spaces.

“We are also guarding our borders, (…) the Armed Forces are jubilant, they are happy, they are doing their job, fulfilling their mission and we will be attentive throughout the day,” he said.

On the development of the electoral process, Padrino LĂłpez stressed that if there is any consensus in his country, it is precisely to defend national peace.

“It takes much more courage to stand up for peace than to do violence. Maintaining peace requires more courage from citizens, political actors”, said the also Vice President of the Security Sector, Sovereignty and Peace, in his speech after exercising the right to vote during the presidential elections that the South American country is developing.

Padrino LĂłpez acknowledged that the process has been developed by civility, and specified that he wants to conclude “peace” and “tranquility”.

“The projection I hope is that the whole process will end as it is developing at this very moment, in peace, with civility, tranquility, with much patience,” he stressed.

On the electoral system in Venezuela, the head of Defense said that it is characterized by its robustness because “without any trap, it allows to choose the president or the election that is of his taste”.

The head of Venezuelan Defense also stated that so far in the country has not taken place “any relevant incident”.
