This far-right politician is being investigated in the U.S. for a corruption plot involving USAID funds.
The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, welcomed the news that the United States has launched an investigation into the corruption scheme that Juan Guaido implemented to benefit from funds provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Saab recalled that the Venezuelan Prosecutor’s Office has 29 open cases against this far-right politician and is awaiting Interpol’s activation of the red notice requested for his arrest in 2023. Saab also mentioned that only 2 percent of all the money allocated by USAID to Guaido was actually used.
“Between 2018 and 2020, they literally stole US$1 billion from the ‘humanitarian aid’ funds aimed to ‘help’ migrants,” the Venezuelan Attorney General said, expecting that the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) will activate the red notice requested by Venezuela in 2023 against Guaido.
“The alert is active. We are just waiting for Interpol’s approval, and we believe this is a good opportunity… We are witnessing the presence of an international criminal enterprise,” Saab said, referring to the mafia led by Guaido, who misappropriated US$19 billion in the Monomeros case alone.
Last week, U.S. mercenary Jordan Goudreau, who took part in Operation Gideon to target Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, revealed that U.S. security agencies are investigating Guaido for fraud.
The former Green Beret also confirmed that the FBI and CIA were aware of Operation Gideon and protected Juan Guaido and Leopoldo Lopez.
Days ago, Attorney General Saab requested that U.S. authorities hand over the available information on this case so that Venezuela can continue investigating the actions of these far-right politicians, both of whom remain fugitives from Bolivarian justice.
