Former Colombian presidents such as Uribe and Duque protect criminal networks that operate against the Venezuelan nation.
On Wednesday, Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello reiterated the claim that the criminal organization known as the Aragua Train and Venezuelan far-right leaders maintain close ties with the purpose of generating political destabilization and chaos in his country.

Venezuela To Respond Strongly Against Promoters of Military Intervention
With the support of U.S. organizations, Latin American right-wing figures such as former Colombian presidents Alvaro Uribe and Ivan Duque, created and protect criminal networks that operate against the peace of the Venezuelan people, said Cabello, who is also the vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
Previously, the Bolivarian minister informed that Venezuelan security forces had killed Wilexis Acevedo, a known criminal responsible for numerous murders and extortions in the marginal urban areas of the country.
Wilexis also operated as the head of the “Small Commandos,” paramilitary groups activated by far-right politicians Maria Corina Machado and Edmundo Gonzalez to commit acts of violence after the 2024 presidential elections.
Among the most recent plans assigned to Wilexis were attacking the National Assembly while President Nicolas Maduro was being sworn in and assassinating international guests at the inauguration ceremony, Cabello revealed.
The Interior Minister also mentioned that opposition politicians such as Juan Guaido, Leopoldo Lopez, Carlos Vecchio, Julio Borges, Miguel Pizarro, and David Smolansky are linked to a network of coyotes that extort migrants.
“There are close links between these people, criminal organizations and Colombian narco-paramilitarism,” Cabello said, explaining that they use the Aragua Train to operate drug trafficking, terrorist destabilizations, and hitmen.
Earlier this month, the Interior Minister announced that Ivan Simonovis, a fugitive from Venezuelan justice who resides in the U.S., maintains contacts with the Aragua Train and the Del Llano Train and supplies weapons to Venezuelan far-right groups.
Cabello confirmed that Uribe and Duque moved the Aragua Train from Venezuela to Colombia to protect that criminal organization in their country. At the appropriate time, the Venezuelan Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) provided Colombian authorities with detailed information about the meeting of 16 criminal gang leaders ordered by Uribe.
“We gave them detailed information but they only caught one of them. That is not our fault. We gave them the information about where they were going to meet in Colombia,” Cabello stressed.
“Guaido, Lopez, Vecchio and Smolansky are the heads of a criminal network that is publicly active in the U.S. It cannot be that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) does not realize this,” Cabello denounced.
The Bolivarian minister believes that U.S. authorities tolerate and protect those who are linked to human trafficking and illegal financing because their activities are used in the imperial aggression against Venezuela.
Cabello reminded President Donald Trump, who declared the Aragua Train a terrorist organization, that the leaders of this criminal group are in the U.S. and not in Venezuela.
“We take this opportunity to tell him that the Aragua Train partners are there in the United States, just in case he did not know. The biggest blow he could give to the Aragua Train would be to put a stop to the actions of Guaido, Vecchio, Pizarro, and Lopez,” the Bolivarian minister pointed out.
On Monday, Attorney General Tarek William Saab informed that Venezuelan authorities had dismantled the structures of the Aragua Train and arrested 48 people linked to that transnational criminal group.
He also asked the countries that host Aragua Train members to extradite them to Venezuela so as to judge them and sentence them to 30 years in prison.
