Venezuelan FM and Colombian Vice FM Meet in Caracas

On Monday, the Venezuelan foreign minister, Yvan Gil, held a meeting with the Colombian deputy foreign minister, Jorge Rojas Rodríguez, in the city of Caracas.
On the Yván Gil’s Telegram channel, the Venezuelan FM said that “Representing President Nicolás Maduro, we held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, Jorge Rojas Rodríguez, during his official visit to Caracas.”

Gil pointed out that he and Rojas agreed to continue strengthening our bilateral relationship, with a special focus on economic and trade exchange.
In this regard, the Venezuelan FM informed that this year could exceed one billion dollars.
In the message Gil shared, he highlighted that “Friendship and mutual respect continue to bear significant fruit for our peoples.”
For his part, Rojas said that both countries have potential throughout the border area and that the good-neighbourliness policy established by the government of President Petro is on course and with Venezuela.
Rojas also recalled that Venezuela is Colombia’s strategic allie in the region to advance integration and to strengthen the border, Colombia is willing to activate all the mechanisms we have created and those that have been created before to strengthen our relationship.
