The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela has denounced a “new terrorist and fascist attack” against the National Electric System (SEN), allegedly perpetrated by opposition groups attempting to “sabotage the Holy Week holidays for our people.”

In an official statement released Friday by the Ministry of Popular Power for Electric Energy (MPPEE), authorities confirmed that service had been fully restored “in record time” thanks to immediate intervention by the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC).

“They Could Not and Will Not Succeed”: Government Vows Resistance

The ministry announced the arrest of three individuals allegedly connected to the sabotage operation, stating that “all evidence points to extremist sectors of the Venezuelan right wing.”

“We remain determined to defend our freedom and independence under the leadership of our President Nicolás Maduro Moros,” the statement declared in a direct message to those responsible.

Security Forces Mobilized

Authorities coordinated with the Ministry of Popular Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace to launch a full investigation into what they described as a “destabilizing action.”

Government officials emphasized the rapid response by technical teams that successfully normalized power distribution despite the alleged attack.

Political Context

This incident follows a pattern of similar accusations by the Venezuelan government against opposition groups, whom it routinely blames for attempts to sabotage critical infrastructure. The administration maintains its narrative of resisting what it calls “imperialist attacks and right-wing coup attempts.”

With Holy Week celebrations underway, the Bolivarian Government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public services while warning against further disruption attempts.

“Our people can rest assured we will continue defending peace and electric stability, despite the aggression of those seeking to create chaos,” the MPPEE statement concluded.
