“After 25 years of the Bolivarian Revolution, of which almost 10 years have been under a blockade with over 900 active sanctions, we have decided that Maduro should lead a new stage of transformations toward socialism,” they said, recalling that the Venezuelans elected Maduro with over 6 million votes.

The social organizations demanded “respect for the will expressed in votes” and criticized former presidential candidate Edmundo Gonzalez for his actions against Venezuelan institutions.

“He did two very serious things. By publishing his own electoral figures with forged documents, he disregarded the results and the electoral institution, and he called on his supporters to reject everything. For this, he paid paramilitary groups to incite violence in various areas.”

The Venezuelan chapter of the ALBA Movements also recalled that, between July 29 and 30, far-right activists unleashed violent persecution against supporters of Chavismo through “Small Commandos” composed of young people linked to criminal gangs.

“They attacked communal houses, political parties, institutional headquarters, social program facilities, and the homes of community spokespeople,” they pointed out.

“WhatsApp shared the contact information of Chavistas with right-wing groups that activated task forces in several countries to send threatening messages… In our neighborhoods, most of our spokespeople received death threats from unknown numbers with foreign codes. Instagram and TikTok have allowed the widespread dissemination of hateful messages against Chavismo along with violent actions.”

In response to the violent actions promoted by the far right, the Venezuelan State is implementing a plan to deactivate armed groups and arrest the material and intellectual authors of the violence.

In this regard, ALBA organizations reminded that 25 people died as a result of the violent actions triggered after the July 28 elections. They also rejected the unfounded opinions that Presidents Lula da Silva (Brazil) and Gustavo Petro (Colombia) have expressed about the Venezuelan electoral process.

“In an act of disorientation, Lula and Petro are trying to tell Venezuelans what to do, disregarding our Constitution and our sovereignty, grossly suggesting that we hold new elections or establish a government with the far-right.”

“Our vote counts! Our Constitution counts! Nicolas Maduro is the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the 2025-2031 period. Alongside him, we will continue fighting against imperialism and fascism, and carrying out the necessary transformations in the construction of Bolivarian socialism.”
