The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, has expressed his gratitude to Iran for its support in the fight against US interference in the country’s internal affairs. This statement was made through the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil, who shared a message on his Telegram channel.

In his message, Gil stated: “On behalf of President Nicolas Maduro and the people of Venezuela, we express our appreciation for the support provided by Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, in response to the recent and regrettable interference of the United States, which seeks to repeat failed strategies of the past.”

He also emphasized that “Iran and Venezuela will continue to be united in their struggle for a world based on peace and justice,” thus reaffirming the ties between both countries in a context of international tensions.

This recognition not only underlines the importance of the alliance between the two countries but also highlights their shared commitment to resisting what they consider external interventions that threaten their sovereignty.

Iran’s position was reaffirmed by Esmaeil Baqaei, who used Twitter to emphasize his country’s stance on US interference.

Baqaei declared: “Iran considers any foreign intervention in Venezuela’s internal affairs as contrary to international law and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and a blow to the peace and stability of the country.”

This message resonates with the anti-imperialist approach that both governments have adopted in their foreign policies.

As tensions between the US and these countries continue to increase, mutual support between Venezuela and Iran seems to be consolidating as a key strategy for both governments. This alliance is presented not only as a response to current circumstances but also as an effort to build a stronger bloc against what they consider threats to their independence and stability.
