Among the first reactions to the announcement of the results were the statements of presidential candidate Benjamin Rausseo, who celebrated the democratic process in this South American country.

He congratulated the Venezuelan people for their massive participation, called for the reconciliation of citizens, accepted his defeat, and urged people to avoid confrontation between compatriots.

“I accept the CNE’s decision, and what we need to do now is turn the page on the election and start writing the new chapter together,” Rausseo said, congratulating Nicolas Maduro on his victory in the 2024 presidential elections.

For his part, Jose Brito, the candidate from the Venezuela First party, posted a video acknowledging the results issued by the electoral authorities in their first bulletin, which gave President Maduro the victory with 51 percent of the votes.

“The Venezuela of today demands reconciliation, reunion, unity, and a great pact,” he said in a message calling for calm, peace, and sanity.

Meanwhile, candidate Edmundo Gonzalez and far-right politician Maria Corina Machado rejected the victory of the Great Patriotic Pole, threatening to contact their supporters to “defend the vote.”

Earlier, President Maduro had denounced that far-right groups were trying to manipulate public opinion through the media to create conditions for conflict and violence in the country.
