During a meeting with his supporters in the city of Cumana, legislator Brito said that the intention to vote for his party has increased according to some recent surveys.

“For Venezuela to do well, we have to take a pause,” he said to emphasize his commitment to respecting the presidential election results.

For his part, the Focused Party presidential candidate expressed his hope that other opposition politicians will recognize the upcoming election results.

“We must acknowledge each other. Hopefully, on July 28, they will recognize the winner because that would be a giant step towards structuring a democratic plan for the country,” Marquez pointed out.

“We believe in the automated electoral system and we are participating in its prior monitoring,” Marquez said, noting that several audits are usually conducted on the system before the elections.

“We should not invite a neighbor to try to solve the problems we have in our house. Venezuelans must solve our problems without external interference,” he added.

On June 20, eight out of ten presidential candidates signed an Agreement on the Recognition of Presidential Election Results. Among the signatoires were not Enrique Marquez and far-right candidate Edmundo Gonzalez.

On Wednesday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that after the elections he will sign a decree calling for a great national dialogue to think about the future of Venezuela.
