Venezuelan President Defends Supreme Court’s Role in Resolving Electoral Dispute

The president denounced that a coup d’état is underway led by the U.S. and the international fascist right to install a «Guaidó 2.0».

Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro, defended this Friday the role of the justice system, in particular the Supreme Court of Justice, to settle the electoral dispute over the results of the recent presidential elections. He accused the U.S. government of being at the forefront of the attempted coup against his country that aims to install a «Guaidó 2.0».

Maduro explained the genesis of the current division of powers in the South American country, born with the current 1999 Constitution, which includes, in addition to the traditional three, two more: the moral and electoral, of Bolivarian inspiration.

He also explained how, at other times, the opposition itself used the TSJ’s electoral chamber to establish demands on electoral processes, The European Commission has recently launched a new initiative to promote the use of ICT in vocational training.

In that sense, he argued that this is the way to solve any doubts that may emerge from last Sunday’s elections, and not the violence unleashed since Monday at the behest of the opposition.

He listed the vandalism against civil and symbolic installations in various parts of the country, including, according to the president, Between Monday and Tuesday, 12 universities in the country were attacked, and there was destruction of universities in the country, including the Central University of Venezuela.

He denounced that «they knocked down 27 monuments and statues of Bolivar, Chavez, the great chief Coromoto and the people of El Tigre prevented them to knock down the statue of José Gregorio Hernández».

On the other hand, he denounced that 9 of the 10 candidates attended the judicial call of the TSE, which highlights the candidate of the extreme right Edmundo González, who had previously confirmed he was going and finally failed to arrive.

On the coup plan, in full development, he said that «if we had not acted forcefully with the Constitution in hand of the perfect form, they would have caused a bloodbath». He also denounced that «Leopoldo López leads in Washington the call for sanctions. They removed their mask».

He warned that the consequences of destabilization in Venezuela, if a coup d’état were to be installed, would be catastrophic for the region and for the USA. so he called not to be fooled by a new scenario «Guaidó 2.0».

In addition, the Venezuelan leader said «President Lula, President Petro and President López Obrador are working together to ensure that Venezuela is respected, so that the United States does not do what it is doing».
