Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro hosted Arab-Muslim leaders at Miraflores Palace, pledging support for Palestine and calling for unity during Ramadan’s closing ceremony.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro welcomed representatives of the Arab and Muslim community at Miraflores Palace to mark the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. During the ceremony, he reaffirmed Venezuela’s solidarity with Palestine amid what he described as a “genocide” perpetrated by the Israeli government in the Middle East.

A Call for Unity and Peace

In his address, President Maduro expressed gratitude for the invitation to the event, calling it a “beautiful ceremony” to close Ramadan celebrations.

“We are honored to open the doors of Miraflores Palace to our Muslim brothers and sisters from the Arab world and Africa,” he said. “We, the children of Christ, are brothers in life and blood to the people of the Prophet Muhammad. We are one people who must remain united in the struggle for peace, justice, equality, and sovereignty.”

He emphasized that Ramadan served as a time to pray for Palestine, stating: “These days of Ramadan have been dedicated to praying for the Palestinian people—for their right to peace, life, and sovereignty. I know that sooner or later, God will grant us the blessing of justice and respect for Palestine.”

Religious Leader Praises Venezuela’s Stance

Sheikh Omar Kaddoura, Assistant Religious Guide of the Sheik Ibrahim Bin Abdulaziz Al Ibrahim Mosque, thanked President Maduro for the invitation and for Venezuela’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

“We appreciate your firm stance in backing one of the most noble, just, and humanitarian causes of our time—the struggle of Palestine,” Sheikh Kaddoura said. He also acknowledged Maduro’s openness to strengthening Venezuelan-Arab ties, including a request for dual Venezuelan-Arab nationality.

Venezuela’s Continued Solidarity with Palestine

The meeting underscores Venezuela’s long-standing diplomatic support for Palestine amid ongoing conflict in Gaza. President Maduro’s government has consistently condemned Israeli military actions and advocated for Palestinian statehood in international forums.

The event concluded with cultural exchanges and prayers for global peace, reinforcing Venezuela’s alignment with the Muslim world on humanitarian and geopolitical issues.
