“I recognize and will recognize the electoral authority and the official results. I will make sure that they are respected. The word of the electoral referee will be holy and I call on the ten presidential candidates and the 38 political parties to publicly declare that they will respect the official bulletin of the electoral authority,” he told reporters a few moments after casting his vote.

Maintaining the practices deployed throughout the electoral campaign, the Bolivarian leader ratified that his candidacy is “the only guarantee of peace” in the country. “There will be peace for everyone who love Venezuela,” he pointed out.

“I said that voting day would come in peace and it came in peace. If there is something to preserve and defend, it is peace, harmony and coexistence among Venezuelans. This must be a day when good triumphs in Venezuela by doing good. Good is the greatest expression of love,” he stated.

The text reads, “At the Santos Michelena school in Las Tejerias, the voting process is taking place with absolute normality. The people are the protagonists of the electoral celebration.”

Besides recalling that the electoral process has overcome many difficulties without any incidents, the Venezuelan president emphasized that 100 percent of the polling stations are installed throughout the country and that the electronic voting process is occurring efficiently.

On Monday, Maduro will share “many things” related to the actions his administration has been carrying out to ensure that the elections take place in peace. He also recalled his intention to call for a national dialogue with political and economic actors to consolidate the progress Venezuela has made.

Similar to previous occasions, the Bolivarian leader was the first citizen to vote in his polling station and the first presidential candidate to do so.
