‘The Great Patriotic Pole is prepared to deliver 100 percent of the electoral records that are in our possession,’ Maduro said.

On Tuesday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro confirmed that he will attend the Supreme Court of Justice on Friday to present 100 percent of the original records from the polling stations.

“The Supreme Court president informed that the 10 presidential candidates have already been judicially summoned. I received the judicial summons and I have to go on Friday,” he said from the Miraflores Palace, where a march of senior citizens arrived to express their support for President Maduro, who won the July 28 elections with 51.9 percent of the votes.

“I will attend and answer all the questions the Court asks me… the Great Patriotic Pole is prepared to deliver 100 percent of the electoral records that are in our possession,” Maduro noted.

“I hope that all the candidates and all the parties deliver the records. The big question is: if all the candidates and parties have been judicially summoned, who will not attend? We will see.”

Previously, the Supreme Court President Caryslia Rodriguez summoned the representatives of all parties and former presidential candidates to deliver all electoral materials from August 7 to 9.

This request responds to the contentious action presented by President Maduro, who asked the Supreme Court for a thorough investigation of the presidential elections to clear any accusations of fraud.

“The failure to appear before the Electoral Chamber will have the consequences provided for in our current legal system,” Rodriguez warned.

On Wednesday, the attendance of the far-right Democratic Unity Table candidate, Edmundo Gonzalez, who proclaimed himself president-elect on Monday, is expected at the Supreme Court.
