There are over 600 investigations related to violent actions carried out by the far-right’s ‘Small Commandos.’
On Monday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro convened a meeting of the Council of State and the National Defense Council, which was attended by the Attorney General of the Nation, Tarek William Saab.

This official presented an updated report on the actions his institution has been carrying out to investigate the events that took place after the presidential elections on July 28, when the Venezuelan far-right opposition rejected the victory of the Bolivarian leader and initiated acts of urban violence.
During a live televised report, Saab explained that there are over 600 expert analyses and criminal investigations related to allegations of violent actions planned by the Venezuelan far-right opposition through the so-called “Small Commandos.”
“Venezuela has been experiencing an unprecedented escalation of coup attempts. They tried to impose a ‘color revolution’ similar to the one that the United States financed in Ukraine,” he said. “Here, they want to do the same. They called for the overthrow of a legitimately elected government, resulting in tragic consequences with violence and death.”
In the 48 hours following the July 28 elections, the Venezuelan far-right implemented “actions to persecute and exterminate chavismo, and hate crimes aimed at eliminating people due to their political orientation,” the Attorney General emphasized.
“The perpetrators of the deaths were the Small Commandos, as revealed by biological, physical, and phone investigations. The highest number of cases occurred in Caracas and Aragua, where seven people died in each region,” he said. “Deaths were also recorded in the states of Bolivar, Yaracuy, Miranda, and Zulia. Sixty-eight percent of the homicides occurred during the nighttime,” Saab said.
“They used criminal gangs linked to terrorism and drug trafficking. I have 170 videos with the corresponding expert analyses,” the Bolivarian official emphasized.
During the meeting of the Council of State and the National Defense Council, President Maduro noted that Venezuelan authorities managed to control the fascist violence and restore peace in the country in record time.
“The greatest vaccine against hate crimes spread from social media is timely, forceful, and courageous justice,” he said, emphasizing that far-right organizations seek to intimidate society and establish a “state of terror.”
“They intend to seize power through violence. But we are not cowards and have stood our ground bravely. We will not surrender our country or its natural resources to Imperialism. We will not betray the people,” Maduro emphasized.
