Venezuelan Public Ministry Opens Criminal Investigation Against Far Right

Criminal investigation opens following the announcement by the opposition, which was described as “irrito”, in the letter they proclaim Gonzales Urrutia as winner of the elections on July 28.
The Venezuelan Public Ministry opened a criminal investigation against the former right-wing candidate Edmundo Gonzales Urrutia and the opposition Maria Corina Machado.

Criminal investigation opens following the announcement by the opposition, which was described as “irrito”, in the letter they proclaim Gonzales Urrutia as winner of the elections on July 28.
In a statement, the Public Prosecutor’s Office states that both opponents ignored the “only qualified body” to announce election results.
In addition, Machado and Gonzales Urrutia, in the words of the statement, “incited police and military officials to disobey the laws”.
For all these incidents the Venezuelan Public Ministry, accused Edmundo Gonzales Urrutia and María Corina Machado of “Usurpation of Functions, Dissemination of False Information to Cause Confusion, Incitement to Disobedience of Laws, Instigation to Insurrection and Association for Delinquency and Conspiracy.
The statement stated that the Public Prosecutor’s Office will remain vigilant to any action that seeks violence among the Venezuelan population.
All this in his duty to be “the guarantor of peace and stability in the country,” says the statement.
