In the state of La Guaira, people gathered to watch 29 floats representing parishes from Caracas and La Guaira, decorated with themes related to this South American country’s flora and fauna.

The floats, which belonged to both public and private institutions, left behind confetti and candy as they passed by, during an east-to-west coastal route that attracted around 300,000 people.

Meanwhile, on one of the coastal beaches, Luzmarys Tejada, an assistant at the National Institute of Aquatic Spaces, stated that a land and maritime operation has been in place to ensure the safety of visitors.

Additionally, across the country, more than 2,300 recreation workers have been deployed in 150 high-impact areas, where sports activities such as beach soccer and beach volleyball are being held.

On Sunday in Caracas, a five-kilometer race was held with 2,000 athletes participating. On Monday and Tuesday, nighttime events will take place at Los Proceres boulevard, a traditional gathering spot during Caracas’ Carnival celebrations.

“People are enjoying music, color and costumes on beaches, rivers and mountains during the Carnival 2025 season,” Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said, highlighting that the Carnival festivities take place in an atmosphere of peace and security.

“It is a profound, cultural and joyful Venezuela that the world must see, recognize and respect. Carnival is a great national celebration that reaffirms peace. Families are protected by our security devices so that joy, unity and peace prevail. Long live the carnival!,” he added.

Since Feb. 27, nearly 190,500 military personnel and police officers have been mobilized as part of a security plan for the Carnival festivities, confirmed Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello.
