The creation of this order is a direct response to recent unilateral measures imposed by the U.S. government, which have seriously affected various sectors of the country, including members of the security forces and the government cabinet.
From the new Plaza Monument to the Bicentennial of Ayacucho, Maduro emphasized the importance of this decoration, which not only recognizes the suffering and resistance of those who have faced illegal and coercive sanctions but also invites Venezuelans to become heirs to the glories of those who fought for freedom two centuries ago.
“Make yourselves worthy of the sanctions that imperialism has imposed on you,” said the president, emphasizing that these decorations are symbols of honor and courage in times of adversity.
The creation of this order is a direct response to recent unilateral measures imposed by the U.S. government, which have seriously affected various sectors of the country, including members of the security forces and the government cabinet.
These sanctions, which the Venezuelan government has described as “criminal,” have been strongly rejected, and awarding this new medal is presented as a form of resistance and vindication against external oppression.
By issuing this order, President Maduro seeks to strengthen the spirit of struggle and resistance among Venezuelans, reminding them that each sanction imposed is also an opportunity to reaffirm their identity and history.
The award of the Victoria Bicentennial Order of Ayacucho is therefore an act that transcends mere ceremony. It is a reaffirmation of the Venezuelan government’s commitment to its people, as well as an invitation to all citizens to stand firm in the face of adversity.
In times when imperialism seeks to disintegrate sovereign nations, Venezuela stands proudly, remembering its history and reaffirming its path toward a free and dignified future.
