 Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez has arrived in New Delhi with the aim of enhancing bilateral relations between Venezuela and India.

This visit is part of a work agenda focused on consolidating friendship and cooperation between the two nations, reaffirming their commitment to building a new world order free from hegemony.

 In recent years, both countries have made significant strides in various sectors, including trade and investment. Their cooperation has expanded into areas such as alternative energy, with agreements signed that benefit both the pharmaceutical industry and the production of iron and electrical cables.

The diplomatic relationship between Venezuela and India dates back to 1959 when formal ties were established. A major boost occurred in March 2005 during the visit of then-Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez to New Delhi. Since then, the relationship has been characterized by cordiality and mutual respect, allowing for sustained growth in strategic cooperation.
