Saab stated that the measure, adopted by a Venezuelan court, is duly supported by Venezuelan and international law. «We have requested the red alert from INTERPOL against Javier Milei, president of Argentina», Saab said during a press conference.

According to the prosecutor, the application is based on an offence that violates conventions against organised crime: «for having stolen an aircraft, dismantled an aircraft and caused damage to the national heritage».

Saab also referred to the arrest warrants announced by an Argentine entity against President Nicolás Maduro and other Venezuelan officials, calling them «a de facto action, retaliation and a crude maneuver».

The Attorney General noted that the Milei government «Not only is it of double standards, of double standards, but extremely dangerous, because it pretends to be a hodgepodge, a subject that does not look like the human rights issue, when they are systematically massacring the elderly in that country».

Saab warned that «Argentina’s hypocrisy around this human rights issue transcends borders» and that the Venezuelan nation continues to be besieged by foreign powers, using the president of Argentina, whom he described as mentally ill.

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that the Public Ministry has initiated an investigation into the «Ya Casi Venezuela» platform, which is reportedly collecting funds to hire mercenaries who attack Venezuela.

Saab emphasized that «whoever collaborates by giving money to the said platform is an accomplice of serious crimes. It is a national crime as transnational».

In addition, the attorney general warned that «they intend to do in Venezuela what they are doing in Gaza and now in Lebanon, with the excessive attack by Israel».

On the human rights violations in Venezuela, Saab said that we have no double standards, we investigate the human rights violations that occur in our country. It is a matter of state».

He detailed that in the period from August 2017 to 2024, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has indicted 2,536 state security officials for alleged human rights violations, and there are «83 individuals indicted as collaborators».

Saab added that 581 officials and 63 collaborators have been convicted, a total of 644 individuals sentenced in the last 7 years for human rights violations in Venezuela.
