Venezuela’s Supreme Court Requests the CNE to Deposit Documents of Presidential Elections

It was the result of a decision taken after the amparo requested by President Nicolás Maduro

The Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, in its judgment 710, This 2024, decided on Friday to ask the National Electoral Council the deposit of several documents related to the presidential elections last Sunday.

This is the first response to the electoral dispute, presented two days ago by the president of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro Moros.

The decision requests the National Electoral Council to collect within three days of dispatch (working days) instruments related to the process of the Presidential elections of 28 July 2024.

These include the National Polling Stations Records; the Final Tabulation of the Electoral Process; as well as the Award Act and the Proclamation Act of the process.

Likewise, «since the cyber attack against the IT system of the National Electoral Council is a public, well-known and communicational fact» we ask you to «all evidence associated with such event»

As it is a matter of urgent procedure, related according to the tribune with «Peace, Democracy and in search of constitutional order», the Electoral Chamber decided «that for this particular case the office of this body is authorized from Monday to Sunday, both days inclusive, during twenty-four (24) hours».

On Friday, the Supreme Court, at its request, attended nine out of ten candidates who stood for the election on Sunday. The only one who didn’t show up was the one who declared fraud: Edmundo González.
