The situation in Lebanon has been marked by a violent attack against the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which left the mission’s deputy commander injured.

This incident occurred on Friday, February 14, when a convoy of UN peacekeepers was ambushed by a group of masked individuals near the Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut. During the attack, one of the convoy’s vehicles was set on fire.

According to a statement issued by UNIFIL, the deputy commander, who was returning to his home country after completing his mission, was injured in the assault, though no details were provided about the severity of his injuries.
