‘We have defeated fascist and terrorist violence, consolidating a model of active and democratic peace,’ he pointed out.

“We have defeated fascist and terrorist violence, consolidating a model of active and democratic peace,” he said, praising the unity between the people and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

As evidence of this, Venezuelan authorities in 2024 detained over 150 mercenaries from 25 nationalities who had planned to attack critical infrastructure in the country to destabilize the internal situation.

Maduro highlighted that his nation overcame the obstacles imposed by 1,027 arbitrary U.S. sanctions, which directly impacted the economy and the stability of the Caribbean nation.

“Our democracy is always being tested, besieged, and threatened, yet it remains active and standing. We have built a powerful democracy. We have held 31 constitutional elections and will have 10 more elections in 2025,” he said, underscoring the resilience of Venezuelan institutions.

“Those who seek to impose interventionist formulas on Venezuela are the heirs of those who committed genocides against more than 80 million Indigenous people and who enslaved our African brothers. This is the work of the colonialist and slave-owning elite. We will not remain silent about this truth!” Maduro emphasized, reaffirming the Bolivarian government’s anti-imperialist stance.

In his annual speech, the Venezuelan president also highlighted economic achievements in key sectors such as oil production and agriculture. “We have a more robust nation on the path toward transformations of the new era. We are the guarantee of the Republic’s existence,” he stated.

Maduro pointed out that Venezuela’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 9% in 2024 and noted that the oil sector experienced a 14% increase, surpassing the production of one million barrels per day.

“We are 100% self-sufficient with domestic production, and 85% of business owners reported profits,” he said, adding that agriculture grew by 6.2%, while manufacturing increased by 4.6%.

During his annual report, the Bolivarian president presented the development plan “2025-2031,” which will be submitted for public consultation before becoming law.
