The aggression in the northern West Bank has so far caused the death of 18 citizens, including eight in Jenin, six in Tulkarm and four in Tubas, according to medical sources, bringing the total number of deaths since 7 October 2023 to 668. In addition, more than 30 people were injured, according to a report by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
In Tulkarm, the occupation forces extended their aggression to this camp in addition to that of Nour Shams, attacking dozens of homes and subjecting many civilians to field investigations. Meanwhile, the occupying forces continued to besiege the Nour Shams camp and to close all its entrances while raiding and searching homes.
In Jenin, the occupying forces continue to besiege the city and attack its eastern neighbourhood, and amid violent clashes and the sound of occasional explosions, they have sent military reinforcements into the vicinity of their camp.
In a phone call with WAFA, the governor of Jenin, Kamal Abu al-Rub, said that the situation in the city is difficult and that the occupying forces continue to besiege the city and its camp, closing the roads leading into the city.
He added that the occupation forces continue to destroy vehicles and property of citizens, bulldoze streets and infrastructure, raid houses and move from one house to another in both the city and the camp.
The occupation forces forced several residents to evacuate their homes, ordered them not to return home for four days and converted them into military barracks, according to Al-Rub.
The death toll increased to eight on the second day of the attack on Jenin and its camp, while the number of wounded rose to seven, including one critical case, and several detainees. The occupation forces continue to besiege the government hospitals Ibn Sina and Martyr Khalil Suleiman.
According to Wissam Bakr, director of the Jenin Hospital, the occupation forces are still stationed at the entrances to the hospital and are placing earth barriers on the streets leading to the hospital.
In addition, he said that the government hospital in Jenin, including the camp, still has no electricity and that the hospital is dependent on generators.
He noted that the occupation forces are obstructing the work of medical staff and continue to review the personal cards of patients entering and leaving the hospital.
After an aggression that lasted more than 30 hours, the occupying forces withdrew from the Al-Far’a camp in Tubas, resulting in the deaths of four martyrs, several detainees and the destruction of homes and infrastructure.
