The Yemeni army has imposed a naval blockade since 14 November

A French destroyer rescued 29 sailors from an oil tanker that was the subject of repeated attacks in the Red Sea, authorities reported on Thursday, while it is alleged to have destroyed a remote-controlled bomb-carrying ship in the area.

Although it was not confirmed, the Yemeni armed forces are suspected of having carried out the assault on the Sounion.

The Armed Forces of the Yemeni government in Sanaa, merged with the resistance movement Ansarallah, have not yet claimed responsibility for the operation, but are expected to do so in the coming hours or days.

These forces have attacked more than 80 ships of powers supporting the Zionist genocide with missiles and drones since the beginning of the aggression on Gaza in October. They seized one ship and sank two in a campaign in which four sailors were also killed.

Other missiles and drones have been intercepted by a pro-Zionist coalition of powers led by the US in the Red Sea, although it has not reached its goal to stop the Houthi rebels.

The Yemeni army has imposed a naval blockade since 14 November on ships bound for Israel in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in support of resistance in Gaza.

Ships bound for or en route to Israeli ports in violation of this blockade have been hit by Yemeni missile and drone operations.

The Sana’a forces have promised not to stop their campaign until a ceasefire is reached in the besieged Gaza Strip. The blockade has had a significant impact on the economy of Israel.
