The Yemeni Armed Forces launched a second consecutive attack on Sunday targeting the Israeli Nevatim Airbase, located in the Negev region of southern occupied Palestine.
In an official statement, Brigadier General Yahya Sari, spokesperson for the Yemeni military, confirmed that a hypersonic ballistic missile was used, successfully striking the intended military target.
Sari emphasized Yemen’s steadfast commitment to resist U.S. and Israeli aggression while continuing to enhance its defensive capabilities. He reiterated that military operations would persist until the attacks and the blockade against the Gaza Strip come to an end.
Escalating Military Tensions
Saturday marked the first launch of Yemen’s newly-developed “Palestine 2” hypersonic missile, which reportedly evaded Israeli defense systems. Israeli media outlets in Tel Aviv reported sirens activated near the Dead Sea and in southern territories, amid fears of incoming missile strikes from Yemen.
Regional and International Reactions
Yemeni operations against Israeli targets in occupied Palestine and across the Red and Arabian Seas have continued despite relentless U.S. airstrikes against various Yemeni provinces.
Local sources reported that the U.S. bombings caused dozens of civilian casualties, including women and children.
The escalating confrontation highlights the growing complexity of the situation in the Middle East, characterized by increased military tensions, a deepening humanitarian crisis, and mounting international pressure to halt the violence.
