Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has put forward a ceasefire proposal that includes the possibility of certain regions being temporarily under Russian control.

Zelensky’s proposal comes against a backdrop of growing pressure on Ukraine, where the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has stated that NATO is considering freezing the armed conflict to prepare for a possible rematch.

Russian intelligence has also reported that a peacekeeping force of approximately 100,000 troops is expected to be deployed, which Moscow calls a “de facto occupation.” In addition, concerns have been raised about a possible territorial division among European countries, including Romania, Poland, Germany, and the UK.
