The demonstration, taking place in Santiago de Chile and Temuco, will also commemorate the young Camilo Catrillanca, four months after his murder at the hands of Carabineros.

This Wednesday demonstrations will be held in Santiago, the capital of Chile, and in the southern city of Temuco, demanding an end to the militarization of Mapuche territory and in commemoration of Camilo Catrillanca, young Mapuche murdered by the Chilean police, known as the Carabineros, while driving a tractor, on Nov. 14, 2018.
The march was called by the Wewaiñ community, and in Temuco by the community of Temucuicui, where the young man lived.
"We call on the Mapuche community and organizations to support this march, because this mobilization is aimed at reasserting the historic rights of the Mapuche people and announcing the route we are going to follow in view of the denial and violation of our rights committed by the Chilean state with our people," argued Marcelo Catrillanca, father of the murdered youth.
The march in southern Chile beings at 10:00 local time at the Hospital Plaza of Temuco. There will also be a cultural arts day from 1:00 p.m. local time at the Plaza Teodoro Schmidt.
In Santiago, the march will start at 8:00 p.m. (local time) leaving from Plaza Los Heroes.
