The agreement signed between the Peruvian and the U.S. government based on the transfer of confiscated assets has been ratified by Peru's Executive Branch.

On Tuesday, the Official Gazette El Peruano published the Supreme Decree No. 017-2022-RE which reiterated the agreement between both states.
The regulation issued by the Peruvian authorities indicated that the agreement was inked last February 11 by the Peruvian side and on February 25, by the U.S. administration.
According to Peru's government, it is beneficial for the country to accomplish the internal ratification of the aforementioned international regulation. The full document and the date where it will be effective will be published by the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

The Congress of the Republic will be notified about the decree that was signed by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo and Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa.
