Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Secretary General Saeb Erekat Sunday said that Palestine will break relationships with any country that moves or opens its embassy in Jerusalem.

"We urge all nations to respect international law, including Security Council resolutions 478 and 2334," Erekat added.
The statement comes after Serbia and Kosovo decided on Friday to move their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, following separate dialogues with the U.S.
The Palestinian Ambassador in Belgrade, Mohammed Nabhan, declared that "the measure that is taking place is contrary to international law and UN resolutions."
UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 478, which was adopted on August 20, 1980, prohibits countries from establishing diplomatic missions in the occupied territories of Jerusalem.
In 2019, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to annex the West Bank’s Jordan Valley to his country. His announcement was rejected by the international community.
"This would be calamitous for Palestinians, Israelis and the region," UN chief Antonio Guterres said.
