Brazil won Women's Copa America for the sixth time with Colombia coming runner-up.

Brazilian won the Women’s Copa America in Ecuador on Sunday. The game ended in a 0-0 tie with Colombia, but the draw gave Brazil enough points to be crowned champions.

Brazil came out top with seven points after the final round of the tournament. Colombia was the tournament's runner-up with five points.

This was Brazil’s sixth Women’s Copa America championship.

Their success means that Colombia and Brazil sealed qualification for the Women’s World Cup in Canada 2015 and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Ecuador beat Argentina 3-2 this Sunday to come third with Argentina in fourth place. The Andean nation overturned a two-nil Argentinian lead in an exciting victory.

The four teams who made it to the the final round of the American Cup also qualified for the 2015 Pan American Games.

The Alberto Spencer award for the competition’s top scorer went to Brazil’s Cristiane Rozeira de Souza Silva with six goals.
