Mexicans have found a new way to blow off steam over Donald Trump's constant racist and xenophobic statements.

Effigies of Donald Trump are going to burn on Good Friday in central Mexico as part of Easter celebrations.

During this holiday, Catholic Mexicans burn cardboard figures, in the form of a devil, that represent Judas Iscariot, the apostle who betrayed Jesus and handed him over to the Roman soldiers.

However, the tradition has changed for some this year, in view of the constant racist and xenophobic statements against Mexicans made by the Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.

The real estate mogul has become a prime target of the humor that characterizes Mexicans and their popular traditions.

An artisan of Mexico City, for instance, created a 2-meter smiling effigy of Trump wearing a blue suit, white shirt and red tie. The funny papier mache figure also has fireworks inside, and will be burn today amid a crowd of people.

Mexican politicians, including President Enrique Peña Nieto, have slammed Trump’s rhetoric and compared it to that of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.
